Speedy Services Qualifiers

SPEEDY SERVICES are to hold four Amateur Qualifiers at some of the Britain's most iconic sporting venues for players to win one of 32 places in June's Speedy Services UK Open.

The Speedy Services UK Open, which will be held from June 6-9 in the Premier Suite at the De Vere Whites in Bolton, has become known as 'The FA Cup of Darts' since its inception a decade ago for the unique format which sees top professionals competing alongside amateur qualifiers.

The main UK Open begins with games across eight stages simultaneously, while the open draw format means that big names can clash in the early rounds as they challenge for the £40,000 title.

While professional players are currently competing in eight qualifying events, Speedy Services will also stage four Regional Qualifiers for amateur players to win a spot in the tournament.

Eight players will win through from each of the four events, which will be held at the iconic Hampden Park in Glasgow, Old Trafford in Manchester, the Wolverhampton Civic Hall and Alexandra Palace in London during April.

Entry to each event is free but must be made in advance through the Speedy Sports website at http://sports.speedyservices.com/event-registration.

The tournaments will initially see all entrants compete in a 15-Dart Challenge, with the players who achieve the top 16 scores progressing to compete in best-of-three leg knockout games, with the winners qualifying for Bolton.

"In previous years we have held the Speedy Qualifiers at our depots, but due to the overwhelming response we've had over the past two years, we’ve had to look for bigger venues, and that's why we have chosen to visit some of the UK's most iconic homes of sport."
