PDC McCoys Premier League- Week 10 Preview

April 11 - Motorpoint Arena, Sheffield

Robert Thornton v Simon Whitlock
Adrian Lewis v James Wade
Michael van Gerwen v Phil Taylor
Andy Hamilton v Raymond van Barneveld
James Wade v Michael van Gerwen

The McCoys premier league arrives in the city of steel on Thursday, with some mouth watering matches on show!

The field is no down to 8 players after the departure of Gary Anderson and Wes Newton at Judgement night in Brighton. With this its now up to 2 players per week to play twice.

The first match up is Thornton and Whitlock. The Thorn will be on a high after beating Taylor last week 7-4, whitlock on the other hand seems to be struggling with form. He would of had to win against MvG last week to stay in if other matches had gone different ways. This, on paper looks like a cracker but on stage i can see only one winner and that's the dude from Scotland.

The next match sees one of the players throwing twice in a night. Lewis v Wade hopefully will be a right scrap. Lewis left Brighton not knowing if he had beat the drop last Thursday, But through Twitter he soon learnt he had. You could see the relief in his tweets, with him saying 'im going to be practising my doubles guys'. Wade is also on a high, he has a new girlfriend who says she is his 'lucky charm' and he seems unstoppable at the moment. If both players bring there A game this could be a Tungsten Battle of Titanic proportions.

Third match on is van Gerwen against Taylor. MvG is also looking like he is unstoppable at the moment. Taylor kept his old set-up last week using the trusty phase 5's but that ploy didn't work against the Thorn. The Power got battered good styleee, so he might be lacking a bit of confidence on stage. The match is tipped to be the game of the night, i think it going to be a very one sided affair.

Next up is the Hammer v Barney. Both had wins last week so you can guarantee they will be on it. The only problem is Hamilton doesn't know when to give in, and a player like that worries Barnaveld. It gets in to Barneys noggin and makes him do silly things. You can bet it will be a high scoring match but it will be settled on the doubles, has most matches are.

My tip for the match of the night is the last game with MvG against Wade. I expect these two to be in the final, both have shown true gladiator spirit in this years Premier League. Both have won 5, drawn 2, lost 2 and top the table. Neither player has had many problems with the high scoring or high checkouts, so this will be game on from when the first arrer is chucked!

Sheffield also sees the return of the dynamic duo. The Walk-on ladies this week are Sammi Marsh and Daniella Allfree.

Yay!! i hear you scream. Both of these beauties are now firm darts family favourites and have a very big following. They bring a bit of added fizz to the darts, its also a home event for Daniella being a Yorkshire lass and Sammi is her partner in crime and are virtually inseparable.
